I have officially moved back to school as of last night! I'm not totally reorganized and unpacked, but it's almost there! There is going to be a slow in blogging because I am a full time student and even though I'm an art/communication major, there is actually some studying to be done!! But that's no reason to stop checking in! There are several weddings coming up this fall, one specifically in a week that i'm sooooo excited about:)!!!

This session was so much fun! I always have fun walking around and doing sessions with girls but this was super fun because we shot her portraits on her grandpa's farm. It was the perfect location! I know it's hard to do, but picking the location is 1/2 the work of making a great session! I love it when clients pick a place that is meaningful to them because the pictures show it! There are some pictures that we took in an old barn where Monica and her brothers played and made forts when they were younger. :) We climbed in and stepped over piles of wood and hay and she showed me her fort that was still standing right where she left it. It really was a special session and Monica is such a sweetheart!

It's impossible to explain how adorable these two are. Meleah and Reed are just beautiful kids, inside and out. I remember playing with Meleah when she was just learning how to walk and holding Reed when he was only a couple hours old. They are growing up so fast! The Kirtner family has been a part of my life since I can remember. I love them so much. Kim and Patrick have had such a huge impact on my life and have been some of our family's closest friends for a long time. It was such a privilege to shoot some of Meleah and Reed running around the backyard. They're about as good as it gets when it comes to the good looks department! I've been dying to take their pictures ever since I got the new camera:)

This wedding was unique because Shanna and Ira are actually already married!! Ira is stationed in Alaska and they had a small ceremony without family and friends from home. So they decided to have a second wedding at home so that family and friends could be apart of their big day and celebrate their new lives together. Because they're already married, the day was less stressful and relaxed. For example, Shanna's cathedral style veil attached itself to the carpet as soon as she started down the aisle and slipped right off! While everyone stared nervously, waiting for her reaction, it was such a relief when Shanna shouted out "Oh we're already married! It's ok, Let's go!" She quickly grabbed Dad's hand and made her way down the aisle! :) Besides the veil incident, which ended up being on of the best parts of the day, the wedding was flawless. Congratulations you two!!

Kelsi was the last of "my girls" to get her pictures done. We decided to shoot them at the Botanical Gardens in Richmond and it was beautiful! She had so much patience walking around with me while we found some good spots! I don't know how but I still managed to find an old dumpster which made me extremely happy. :) You'll have to look for that one. ;)

I literally squealed with excitement when Katie walked in with her red high heels and black vest on. She's so trendy.:) Black, white and red dominated this session in Carytown. We found some great walls to shoot in front of and her red shoes were quite a hit! I love Katie Beale, always have and it was so fun to walk around, talk, shoot her pictures. She's an amazing girl and sooo talented! I can't wait to see what she'll be doing in the future.:)

Last week I did a family session for a friend from church. She told me her grandkids were coming but I didn't know there were 9 of them! I shouldn't have favorites but this little guy was the highlight of the whole session. He was high energy and there was never a moment where he wasn't doing something! Sitting still was not an option. :)We had fun chasing this one around but I managed to get a couple cute ones. :)

These three beautiful girls just recently came into my life when my youth minister (who is practically family) became engaged to their dad. The whole story is amazing... you'll hear more about it when I blog their wedding that is coming up in late August!

So besides all the senior portraits that have been going on, I have had another project. :) At the beginning of the summer I decided to give my little brother my room! I have the biggest bedroom in the house and it stays empty most of the year. This idea seemed like a fun, cheap, yet meaningful birthday present! However, I was reminded how much I DESPISE the painting process! After we ("we" as in momma and daddy:) finally got the color of the wall, I started having fun!:)
